Last Friday we shot the first day of the second annual Mammoth Food and Wine Experience.
We shot the event in 2012 too, so we knew what kind of fun to expect this year. In fact, it’s one of the most enjoyable jobs we do all year.
With weddings and portrait sessions going on around Mammoth, we were only able to shoot the first day’s events, but there was still a lot going on. It started off with the Burger Battle cook off, a competition amongst some of the West Coast’s best burger chefs. The judges were local Mammoth celebrities like X Games SkierCross gold medalist John Teller, and Deena Kastor, an Olympic marathon medalist and American marathon record holder.
The judges had a tough decision. I know because I tried a few of them, but local chef Matt Toomey was the winner.
Next up was an afternoon of cooking seminars located between the Mammoth Lakes Foundation’s theater and the massive tent built in the parking lot for the event. The seminars were lead by a variety of top local chefs and others from around the West Coast. Locals included Jason from CJ’s and Brandon from Bleu.
A number of other local photographers, including Rebecca Garrett, were there to capture the rest of the event. Those photos will be posted soon at Visit Mammoth. Check them out.
That’s it for today. We’ve got Alli and Ernie’s Hayden Cabin wedding from Saturday coming up soon. Josh and Rebecca also shot a wedding at Sierra Meadows Ranch on Saturday which is on the way.
