After a long weekend of making wedding photos in Mammoth Lakes, I hustled north to Reno to do a family portrait session with the Weavers.
The focus of this session was their adorable son Jackson, named after the beautiful mountain town of Jackson, Wyoming, where Skye and Darrel were married.
We met at their house and I made some photos of Jackson playing in his element, then we walked over to the park to continue the fun.
This type of family photography is relaxed and rewarding. I’m able to spend time getting to know the family and make photographs that represent their true nature.
This is one reason we always encourage couples to take advantage of our complimentary engagements sessions. Time spent working and playing together creates a special dynamic that creates a more natural and representative photograph. Plus people are cool and fun to get to know.
The last few weeks have been busy and entertaining, but the real fun is just beginning. I’m shooting Pat and Naomi’s outdoor wedding Saturday in the ski town of Girdwood, Alaska. Pat and Naomi recently relocated to Anchorage from Davis, CA but I was able to do their engagement photos in Reno before they left. Minaret Photography seems to attract laid-back couples that love the outdoors and this is no exception. This weekend Dori Yelverton will be second shooting with me, I’m excited to bring her clean journalistic style to this wedding, it should be another great weekend.
Brandon will be making engagement photos in Mammoth Lakes with Sierra and Ryan. This will be their second session as the first was cut short because of a windy East Side storm. The weather in that part of California and Nevada has finally caught up with the season and we couldn’t be happier.
Lots of fun and beautiful photos are on the way, have a great day.
