Britney and Jon, whose engagement photos we shot at Mammoth Brewing Company last winter, picked Convict Lake as their wedding venue without ever having actually seen it. They were living in Denver at the time, but her family has a place in Mammoth. She knew she wanted to get married in the Eastern Sierra, but didn’t know exactly where. Britney assumed (correctly) that wedding venues around Mammoth need to be booked way in advance so she pulled the trigger, site unseen. She clearly has good intuition.
Everything about the wedding day was perfect and I know Britney would agree. The smile she had on her face for the entire day told the story.
Some highlights from the day were the canoe sendoff right after the completion of the ceremony, the deer posing in the background of the bridesmaid’s photos, the sunset that one Convict employee called “the best he’d seen in 30 years,” and the couple’s dance moves–particularly the finale that had them rolling in the grass. There’s a sequence of that below. Britney’s hula hoop skills, pictured below, were also impressive.
Britney and Jon took a few weeks after their wedding to cruise around the western U.S. to visit friends and family and are now on a two-year-long honeymoon in New Zealand. That’s the raddest honeymoon I’ve heard of and a great way to start out married life. Congratulations guys!
That’s it for my post of Britney and Jon. Thanks again to Hair by Carrie G and the Convict Lake wedding crew. We’re were at Convict last weekend as well for Laura and Scott’s amazing wedding, and we’ll be back Sunday with Jaime and TJ for a morning ceremony. Fall is here and it will be awesome.
Josh shot this one with me and will have photos to post soon. Much more wedding, engagement and family portrait photography from Mammoth Lakes, Lake Tahoe and Reno is on the way.
