Convict Lake Wedding Photography with Brian and Jessica

Brian, Jessica and I bonded this winter during engagement photo missions doing things we mutually love: skiing and adventuring around in the mountains.

You know, as a photographer, that when a couple is willing to go some of the places we went during the engagement sessions, that their wedding photography is going to be awesome.

My intuition was right with Brian and Jessica, and the wedding was one of the best we’ve ever attended.

Along with local photographers Rebecca Garrett and Karl Anderson, I started at Tallus in Mammoth where the ladies prepped in the new housing project’s clubhouse and the guys did the same in an adjacent unit.

When the ladies were ready, we rode down to Convict Lake with Mark from My Mammoth Shuttle and got things going pretty quickly. They had a longer, more in depth ceremony that many others we’ve been to recently, with friends and family delivering inspiring orations and sharing hilarious stories about their past.

After the ceremony we shot several types of portraits along the beach on the south side of Convict before heading back to Tallus for the raging party.

Tallus was a perfect spot for a group of this size. The party was set up over a covered pool with a dance floor, DJ booth and plenty of room to move about. We set up photo booth in the entry room and it was awesome. We’ll have photo booth images coming soon to the blog and Facebook.

The party raged late into the night and Brian and Jessica’s guests had a blast.

We’ll have more from this wedding later. As mentioned earlier, we had three photographers on site so not a moment passed without a camera nearby.

Josh also shot a wedding at Parallax in Mammoth on Saturday and he’ll have images from that coming next week. We’re deep into the summer grind now, with weddings and family portrait sessions and more coming up almost every week throughout the summer.

Finally, thanks again to Green Fox Events. It’s impossible to overstate their contribution to these wedding days. Not only do they take a lot of the guessing and stress out of the operation for the couple, but they make life easy on all the vendors–photographer included. Thanks again, Green Fox.

Thanks for stopping by and keep checking in on Facebook for more.
