Next summer Heidi and Kyle are getting married at Valhalla near South Lake Tahoe, it’s an awesome old building with tons of texture and it’s own dock and beach. I’m really excited to get to shoot there, especially after attending a wedding there this fall. Kyle and Heidi love the Lake Tahoe area and fall colors so we decided to make their engagement portraits at Fallen Leaf Lake and then catch the sunset on the East Shore of Tahoe. We found some unique docks to work with at Fallen Leaf as well as some vivid fall colors and a really cool field full of blooming grasses.
Kyle and Heidi were super fun and easy to work with, they were constantly laughing, with and at me. After some time in the Fallen Leaf Lake area we headed East through South Lake (ugh construction) just catching the sunset at Zephyr Cove. We waded around climbing rocks and getting wet and making photos in the amazing evening light. I tripped and almost fell in holding both my cameras, lesson learned, only one camera in the water at at time. The sunset was classically perfect and the weather was warm enough to allow me to get wet and dirty.
Thanks to Kyle and Heidi for climbing on rocks, tromping through the woods, trespassing and being fun to hang out with.
Have a great day,
