Scott, Laura and their three beagles met me at Lake George last month for their second engagement session before their wedding next week at Convict Lake.
The first engagement session, on skis at Mammoth Mountain’s Hole in the Wall, was one of the most epic and adventurous I’ve ever done. We did this summer session to get a different look, and we certainly achieved that.
The three beagles are a big part of their lives, and are going to serve big roles in the wedding so it made sense to have them along for the engagement photos. It was a blast having them there and they did a great job. One of the beagles, King William III, is actually a bit of a celebrity in the canine world. He lost a limb to sarcoma last year but won the battle with cancer. He’s got a blog going here, but hasn’t kept it very active since I would assume he’s been very active himself.
We shot these during the Aspen Fire that burned near the Eastern Sierra in the second half of the summer so we had a cool, orange sunset to work with. The fires threatened to cancel several sessions this summer but it only got the best of us a few times. Hopefully we don’t have to deal with the smoke again for a long time.
That’s it for today. Check back in the next few weeks for photos from their wedding. I have no doubts that it will be one of the coolest of the summer. The fall colors are starting to set in at higher elevations too so their wedding will have an autumn feel. Can’t wait. Thanks again and check back soon.
