Here is some info we find helpful, if you have further questions please contact us using the contact link above.
Q. How do we find out more info about your pricing and availability?
A. Our wedding packages start at $2500 and portraits at $325. Summer weekends fill up quickly. For more info, contact us here.
Q. I see Brandon and Josh live in different areas. Will they both be shooting my wedding ?
A. Brandon lives in Mammoth Lakes and Josh lives in Reno-Tahoe. Only our top tier package guarantees both of us as photographers. Most of our other packages include a second photographer. We are highly selective about working with others. We only work with highly skilled, like-minded photographers whose style represents Minaret Photography.
Q. Does Minaret Photography travel outside of Mammoth Lakes, Reno and Tahoe for weddings and portraits? A. Yes, we love to travel and shoot portraits in new places. We are inspired by the places we visit and the people we meet and would be stoked to join you on your adventure, where ever that may be. Contact us for info on travel pricing.
Q. Do you shoot family and senior portraits?
A. Yes, we love shooting these types of sessions. They give us an opportunity to create unique images in dynamic settings that aren’t always accessible for weddings. Our packages start at $325 and include hi-res images. Contact us for portrait availability and pricing.
Q. What gear do you use and why?
A. We use a wide range of Canon digital cameras and lenses.
Q. What type of post processing and editing do you do ?
A. We use Adobe Lightroom for 99% of our editing. It’s basically a digital dark room that allows us to fine tune our images.
As far as post processing we always try to create the best image possible with our cameras, this alleviates
work later and we feel it is a better standard. We rarely use trendy styles of processing, we feel it degrades the quality of our work as well as diminishes the longevity of our images. Ten years from now you might not want a yellow antique tint (AKA vintage) on all your images, even though it is an incredibly popular trend right now.
We do like black-and-white images and process several photos from each session with our own grayscale conversions.
Q. Do you touch up skin or do any blemish removal?
A. Absolutely, if you want an image to be cleaned up for a print just let us know and we will be happy to help you look flawless.
Q. Do we get a disk of images with our package?
A. We live in a digital age and images are now more frequently shared electronically than physically. Because of this, all our clients receive a disk of their images with permission to print to 8″x12″ and permission to share online with no restrictions.
With all of our packages, we deliver a folder of web images sized for internet applications as well as a print-size folder so you can make prints up to size 8”x12”.
Q. Why can I only print my photos to 8″x12”?
A. There are tons of places you can order huge wall prints, many of them produce sub-par quality prints. Our work represents us, as such if you would like to have a large print on your wall we would like it to be of the highest quality and be an excellent representation of our work. We would be happy to work with you to order just what you want at a reasonable price.
Q. Do you do any other photography besides weddings and portraits ?
A. Yes, both Josh and Brandon are talented landscape, action-sports, commercial and corporate photographers. Much of Josh’s other work can be found at joshhejlphotography.com. Brandon is the lead photographer for Silver and Blue Sports, a website covering the University of Nevada athletics.
