A few weekends ago we joined Adam and Julia for their beautiful wedding at Sand Harbor, on the east side of Lake Tahoe.
We covered a lot of ground that day, starting at Julia’s family home in hills above the north side of Carson City, and then we shuttled up to Tahoe for the ceremony, and then back to Carson for the reception. Both locations were amazing, and the trek back and forth was worth every minute.
The Sand Harbor ceremony was amazing. It was held on a small promontory between two beaches, surrounded by late-summer beach goers. The bridal party entered the site to beautiful Celtic harp music by Anne Roos, and the seating faced the azure Tahoe waters.
After the ceremony, we made some portraits with both families on the beach, and then with the bridal party in the rocks further out the peninsula.
After that part of the day was done, I jumped in a limo with the wedding party for the return trip. They were having a great time on the way down, as expected, and were well-prepared for a night of partying under the clear Carson Valley skies.
The reception was in the hills west Highway 395, between Carson City and Washoe Lake. The home had an amazing backyard where most of the activities took place. They’ve held other weddings there in the past so the family had a good idea of how to get this reception done right.
Josh will be back soon with more from this wedding. We’ve got two weddings in Mammoth this weekend–one at Sierra Meadows Ranch and another at Forest Chapel at Twin Lakes. Autumn feels like it’s on the way but the weather on Saturday should be in the mid-70s. We couldn’t ask for more.
Thanks again and have a great weekend.
