I went out to shoot engagement photos with Chase and Miranda a few weeks ago in Mammoth and in retrospect, I think we started shooting at the precise moment of the transition from fall to winter.
We were able to catch the last bit of fall color, but a snowy storm front rolled over Mammoth Mountain during our session. Baby Cheyenne wanted none of it, but Chase and Miranda were resilient with the howling wind and freezing temps.
We started on Ranch Road, in view of the infamous Ranch Road Gate, in a grove of beautiful Aspens.
From there we went out to Snowcreek Golf Course’s 7th and 8th holes for some portraits with the barreling rolling in from the west. It got windy really fast and we ended it there but we got some cool shots before it became unbearable.
We’ll have better weather for their March wedding, also here in Mammoth–guaranteed. That’s all for today. We’ll be back soon with more engagement sessions, family portraits, as well as a yoga portrait session at Crowley Lake.
