Richard and Christine had an awesome wedding last month in Mammoth, starting and ending at Mammoth Mountain, with the ceremony at the beautiful Forest Chapel at Twin Lakes.
The wedding was at the tail-end of the first round of fires that have been filling Mammoth with smoke for the second half of the summer, but we ended up having a relatively clear day.
Rebecca spent the day shooting with me and we had an excellent day. We started at the Mammoth Mountain Inn for some preparation shots before heading to Forest Chapel where we met up with this awesome Southern California couple’s friends and family. As soon as the wedding was done, we made some family and bridal party portraits on the Twin Lakes bridge before heading up the gondola to McCoy Station for the reception. The reception was early-ish, but it didn’t stop these party people from getting down long before the sun went down.
When it did go down, we grabbed the couple for a sunset portrait session out in front of McCoy Station. We convinced Richard and Christine to climb a ladder to the the top of a sketchy old shack between the lodge and Chair 3 for some awesome shots with the top of Mammoth in the background. Rebecca had the brilliant idea there to shoot some silhouettes with them in front of the top gondola which came out awesome.
We ended the evening with some wild partying and dancing shots. It was a fantastic day with an incredible couple and mellow guests. Thanks guys, and thanks again Rebecca and Mammoth Weddings!
We’ve got a few more weddings this fall, all at Convict Lake which is such a rad spot to get married in the fall. We’ve also got a few more recent weddings and portrait sessions coming to the blog soon, including Britney and Jon’s epic Convict Lake wedding and Brett and Cara’s Trash the Dress session in the Lakes Basin. It was a great summer and the fall is shaping up to be as good as ever.
Thanks again, and check us out on Facebook for more.
