Mammoth Lakes Wedding Photography at Twin Lakes and the Owens River with Brian and Denise

Denise has been coming to Mammoth on family vacations her entire life, so when she and Brian were looking for a spot to do their March wedding, she knew right where to go.

Her family came often in the summer and spent most of their time near the Owens River, so that’s where she decided to hold the ceremony with her kids, as well as Brian’s.

Before the ceremony she was looking for some mountainous formal portraits so we started at Twin Lakes and got some cool shots on the bridge. In the summer, Josh and I got in a boat to shoot Jeff and Lindy’s families from the bridge. Now, the lake is frozen over and easy to get into a good spot to shoot.

After Twin Lakes, we headed to town and the meadow west of Sierra Star Golf Course. It has great views of Mammoth and a bit of snow which was a nice touch for a March wedding in Mammoth.

After we were done in town, we went south to the Owens River to meet our favorite officiant, Fred Weatherly. His delivery is really something to see. He does a lot of weddings here and has a fantastic oration about the mountains, nature, and love. His delivery is memorable, and impossible to explain here. If you ever attend a wedding he’s officiating, listen closely.

The spot Denise and Brian chose for the ceremony was fantastic. It was right along the river and Mammoth Mountain was right behind them from where the family watched.

After the ceremony we walked along the river in both directions and got some fun shots at sunset. The family was so easy to work with and made it a relaxed day in the best weather we’ve seen in months.

That’s all for today. We’ll have some more engagement sessions coming up, as well as some other events and another Santa Barbara wedding in the next few weeks. Come back soon.
