Today we’ve got part 2 of Blake and Lauren’s April wedding around Mammoth.
This wedding was definitely an adventure, covering almost the entire town of Mammoth. We started at The Westin Monache with prep shots of both the guys and girls getting ready with Carrie G, and then went out into Old Mammoth to get some family portraits sheltered from the gnarly early-spring wind. When we finished up out there, we went over to Tallus where the ladies from Green Fox Events and Guest Services had done a tremendous job turning the luxury town home club house into an intimate site for Blake and Lauren’s nuptials.
After the wedding had wrapped up and most of the guests departed for Mammoth Mountain Ski Area, Josh and I made some portraits of the bride and groom at the ceremony site, then headed up to Main Lodge to document the groups ascent to McCoy Station for the reception and party.
The evening’s events were so much fun. Blake and Lauren come from a Jewish background and they celebrated that aspect of their life with the traditional Hora chair dance to the classic Hebrew song, Hava Nagila (done best, in my opinion, right here!).
Once again, it was a fabulous presentation by the crew at Mammoth Weddings. The food was great, the dance floor rocked and the logistics were executed to perfection.
We also had the photo booth set up right next to the dance floor, which is the right way to do it. Shots from that will be up on Facebook soon, check them out there.
That’s all for this week. Summer is almost here which means wedding photography season is starting to heat up, as are springtime engagement sessions so keep on coming back.
