Hope everybody had a great Labor Day weekend. It couldn’t have been better here in Mammoth.
Last Saturday, after a long night of shooting with Ryan and Sierra in Mammoth, Josh and I jammed to Reno for the weekend’s wedding encore with Jonathan and Kelly.
This wedding was awesome on so many levels, especially the venue which I think was one of the coolest we’ve shot at.
I started with groomsmen as they rode their bikes from Jonathan’s parent’s house in northwest Reno’s chic Somerset neighborhood down to the river. I drove ahead and jumped out every so often to grab shots of them, and we even gathered a few times for some posed shots above northwest Reno.
The circuitous 30-minute ride led to the venue, The Reno River School Farm. This spot was just amazing and definitely a place I’d recommend to couples looking to get married in Reno. It’s a farm with fruits, veggies, flowers and chickens, but also doubles as a venue for live music, education, and community supported agriculture. If you’ve been to a wedding at Portland, Oregon’s super popular Edgefield, you’ll have an idea for the feel of this place.
When all was in place, we met Kelly across the river for the grand entrance. Her dad brought her horse to the west side of the river and he guided her across the bridge on horseback into the riverside ceremony arena. It was a fantastic demonstration of Kelly’s connection with her horse and a stunning way to kick off the celebration.
Here is the first round of images from the soiree from my vantage point. Enjoy and check back Thursday for more from Josh. We’ll also post some from the night’s kickin’ photo booth soon.
