Michael and Stephanie, whose wedding we shot last weekend, came up with the coolest Save the Dates we’ve seen.
It is styled after a Mammoth Mountain ski lift ticket, but it’s more than just pretty graphics and informational text. Their graphic designer, Michelle Catipon, printed a barcode on the ticket that, when scanned by free barcode scanner apps on iPhones, Androids, and other smartphones, opens the website they created for the wedding.
If you’ve got the app on your phone, you can do it right now on your computer screen–Give it a try.
They also made a brochure styled after a Mammoth Mountain trail map full of useful information for their guests about the town, recreation, hotels, and wedding details. They also had the Mammoth trail map inside.
Wedding planning can be a logistical nightmare, and thinking up creative ideas like this can be more hassle than many have time for. When we come across great ideas like this, especially those that are relevant to our local mountain wedding culture, we’ll post them here so keep on checking in.
