Talk about a couple of rad places to spend an afternoon and enjoy a ridiculous sunset! Matt and Sarah were such a pleasure to work with, we had a great time exploring the village and stopping in strange places to make photos. This time of year the golden hour is golden hours, I love it! Squaw was a perfect place to start making photos with its strange mountain rich-rustic style and lack of people (thanks dismal snow pack). After traipsing around the village for a bit we were off to speedboat beach on the north-east shore of Lake Tahoe. I love this beach, parking for only about 8 cars, a beautiful secluded sand beach and plenty of rocks to jump around on. I broke out my newest photo gear for this one, chest waders. Normally I just wade in the water and get wet, but that’s been getting a bit old and cold, as have I, so I broke down and got a pair. I looked like a buffoon waddling around in the water with a camera and light, but it was totally worth it. Not cold or wet!
What a sunset. Just enough clouds to stretch the sun into a bazillion particles of scattered light, add to that cool winter light and a big blue lake. Well it was awesome, I always get so stoked when we catch a superb sunset on a photo mission.
Thanks and happy new year!
